Emma - The Sleep Company Graduate Stories

Given that Emma upholds a non-hierarchical and team-centric structure, one fascinating aspect of my role is that I get to have the opportunity to coordinate, collaborate, and brainstorm with all Emmies across all development levels, ranging from the CEO to my fellow interns.

This role gives me the opportunity to take ownership of projects and certain functions which is not normally seen in traditional companies.

Each day presents an opportunity for creative problem-solving, whether from a tactical or strategic perspective. The multifaceted nature of the Supply Chain allows for continuous exploration and involvement in various aspects of the process.

I find it cool that I can establish working relationships with influencers! It’s thrilling to work with them, and it’s even more fun when we collaborate on our ideas together. Other than that, I love being able to build rapport with teams from other markets.

The best part of my job is the ownership I have over tasks. Managing my own project, presenting it to superiors, and executing it allows me to witness immediate impact on the team and company.

I really love that we’re empowered with a high degree of independence in the decisions we make, which is enabled by a work culture that is entrepreneurial, data-driven, and agile. This lets me get work done efficiently with other Emmies and encourages me to make a bigger impact through the work that I do!

We also ensure that our marketing isn’t just about selling the actual products – we highlight the often-forgotten power of getting quality sleep.

Actually, everything that I am working on since I joined Emma is something new to me. Analysing the data gathered from web traffic, creating social media posts, creating visual content, etc. are something that I am learning and willing to master soon.

One of the coolest things about my role is the freedom that is given to me when it comes to decision making. I am free to search and evaluate for myself potential partnerships for our organization and the other teams I work with are really open when it comes to brainstorming ideas.

The coolest thing about working in Emma is the freedom to express your opinions and suggestions. Emmies are open-minded to ideas that you bring to the table during discussions, so long as they are valid and sticks to the agenda.

Having a wide scope of work while also having to start initiatives and processes from scratch may be challenging, but it’s also what gives me the opportunity to create an impact both for Emma and my growth!

As a recruiter, my greatest fulfilment is being able to change the course of someone’s life and offer growth opportunities.
