6:00 AM

I usually wake up to the hugs and kisses of my 21 month-old son. Once I’m up, I get myself and my partner a good cup of hot coffee to jumpstart our day.

I always make sure to spend time with them in the morning along with my cup of coffee before preparing for work.
 

7:00 AM

While preparing and getting dressed for work, I check my phone to greet my co-workers and check if everyone on the team will be able to report to work for the day. It’s essential for me to know if there will be anyone who will not be able to make it to work for the day so that we can plan on how to mitigate on the tasks at hand.

During my travel going to the office, since I don’t drive, I usually use the time to check important messenger chats to be updated with how the team is putting the day’s strategy and to-do’s in place and to know how else I can be of assistance.

Mostly, things go well in the morning for our team, so I get the chance to listen to music and look outside the car to see the surroundings outside.

9:00 AM

Once I arrive at work, after greeting my workmates and getting settled, I usually start by making a phone call at home to tell my partner that I have arrived safely at work and then will go with checking my emails and organizing my to-do list. I mark my emails according to importance and urgency. I check on our hiring progress to see how we are advancing with our requirements. With the updates on the hiring progress, I adjust our team’s strategy depending on what resources we should bank on more to get more qualified candidates.

After that, I gather my small team to a meeting. I enjoy our daily morning meetings because we get to check how everyone is doing.  We review our team’s performance from the previous day, celebrate our small wins, and acknowledge our opportunities. This gives an avenue for our team members to raise challenges that we are encountering to meet our target and discuss how to best tackle them.

10:00 AM

Morning comes by very quickly, and after I meet with my team, the morning usually means juggling the things that need to be done for the day, and preparing plans for the coming days.

Most of the morning go by with phone calls, short meetings, and completing reports. At around this time, I also walk around our recruitment hub to see to it that applicants’ essentials are ready, such as snacks, paper cups for our free coffee, and if our promotional ads are properly displayed. Like everyone else in our company, I also help ensure that everyone in the recruitment area follows the safety protocols.

12:00 PM

At noon, I have to send my first hourly report to monitor how well we are on terms of our target attainment. I don’t really have a strict rule for lunch but I always do eat at lunchtime. Believe it or not, I especially love a working lunch! I am used to bringing food from home since I love home-cooked meals. So while going through my to-do list or whatever it is at hand, I eat my rice at lunchtime no matter what

1:00 PM

My afternoon is a mix of attending meetings or completing my checklist, whether it be filing for budget requests for our team’s projects, or planning and communicating our initiatives to get more candidates to be attracted and choose to work in our company, or contacting our partners in the local government sector to coordinate in job placement—with this we get to partner and join their virtual job fair events and meet a lot of interesting people.

I also use the afternoon to create reports depending on what’s needed for the day. Mostly, our reports include our performance and productivity summary and how our initiatives in place are impacting our efficiency in filling targets.

When a class of new hires starts, I also attend their pre-orientation via virtual meetings to congratulate them for passing the screening processes and making it to becoming our new employees. With this, we also get to encourage them to refer their friends to join our growing company. We always take this opportunity to establish and create a communication line with them.

I also like to visit ongoing training classes in the afternoon as my way of taking a break and getting to walk around.

We visit them to encourage them to refer their friends and remind them that they can come to us for any referral-related inquiries.

I may usually be seen using my phone a lot especially on shift, but this is very crucial for me to be always online and available for my teammates and my superiors. Since I am entrusted to be part of handling Sourcing groups for multiple sites, It’s important for me to be always updated with what’s happening around these sites. I am glad that the communication technology that we have now, it helps me to be in all places at the same time!

My favorite part of the afternoon is when I take my break and go for a video call with my partner and my baby at home. I ask how their day is going and check if they had already eaten, and if my baby has taken his bath, and if he already had his afternoon nap. After that, I tell them that I will see them after a few hours so he needs to be a good boy

6:00 PM

Our team’s shift has ended, and it’s time for me to make sure that everyone got to complete their reports and update their files accordingly so we can send our End of Day Productivity report.

I usually send a final update of our final numbers for the day so that everyone in the team gets to see how well they performed for the day’s work.

I give special commendation to those who were able to meet and sometimes exceed their targets and talk to the member of the team who needed more help in meeting them so we can help them to do better the next day.

Once I’m done confirming the timekeeping log-out of our team members, I go back to my to-do list to make sure that all urgent items for the day are attended to.

7:00 PM

It’s time to go home! Usually, my partner picks me up from home after hi work. When we travel, I like seeing the city at night because of the lights. During work, my partner and I talk about different things.

8:00 PM

Once I arrive at home, we have our dinner and rest for a while and we get ourselves a good bath to be disinfected as well before seeing our baby.

Once I have freshened up, I wear my mommy hat and play with my baby until he falls asleep.

Once he falls asleep, sometimes, I wrap up the day with a nice cold drink with my partner as we watch our favorite show on Netflix and talk some more about anything under the moon
