Entry requirements are successful completion of a bachelor degree with a major in economics. Students must have obtained a weighted average mark of 65 per cent or higher in the subjects ECO2CFC, ECO2MFG, ECM2IE ECM3MEC, ECO3EGS and ECO3CMF, or their equivalent subjects, to be admitted to the Honours year. Students must complete all requirements of their undergraduate degree before taking up Honours. Students are required to complete six coursework subjects and two research projects. Research will be completed under the direct supervision of an academic staff member. Students may, with the permission of the Honours coordinator, include the subject Research Project: Part C (ECO4RPC). Such students may submit an Honours thesis of up to 15 000 words. The criteria for this decision will be whether the student is sufficiently prepared to complete a 15 000 word thesis. Approval of a research topic is subject to the availability of a supervisor in the designated discipline area. The Honours program requires a further year of full-time study or two years of part-time study following completion of the Bachelor degree. All subjects are worth 15 credit points. Note: MGT1AIM is a not-for-credit subject that you are required to complete at the commencement of your first semester. The subject is designed to enhance your knowledge and awareness of issues concerning academic integrity.
