The Diploma of Arts is a one-year diploma offered to regional students who do not wish to undertake a full three-year length Bachelor of Arts, for academic or personal reasons. The Diploma of Arts offers an introduction to post-secondary study of Humanities and Social Sciences in a supportive learning environment. It aims to provide structured support throughout the course and successful completion is a pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts. This course keeps to the traditional flexibility of the first-year of the Bachelor of Arts. It incorporates additional student support through an Academic Skills subject and the First-Year Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Skills Seminar offered by the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce. The flexibility of subject offerings allows you to gain knowledge and skills centred on your interests and career aspirations. Through classroom discussions, individual projects, assignments and teamwork, we aim to give you skills such as creativity and flexibility, problem solving, communication skills, organisational skills and leadership.
