The Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business is a five-year combined degree providing an accredited professional qualification in law as well as a degree in business. The program offers an innovative, high-quality legal education with a social justice perspective and a real emphasis on hands-on experiences. It includes all the compulsory Law subjects required by
the Victorian Legal Admissions Board for admission to the legal profession as an Australian lawyer in Victoria and a wide range of Law electives, many with a practical skills component, such advocacy and negotiation. There are also a number of Clinical Legal Education subjects on offer. You will be able to complete the business subjects and all core law subjects at Bendigo. You are able to undertake law elective subjects at the Melbourne Campus in both Summer and Winter Semesters and participate in our study abroad options. For information about law electives please refer to the list and information set out under the Law Electives page. Please see the University's Subject Search guide for electives offered in 2019. For further information about the business component of this degree and the business majors and minors available, please consult the information for the Bendigo Bachelor of Business (RBB), but note that the specific degree requirements for this combined degree are more restrictive. The three Essentials - Global Citizenship, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Thinking - are specialist areas designed to give you an edge with employers. They will enable you to adapt your knowledge and skills to new contexts in a rapidly changing world. Subjects addressing the Essentials are part of all undergraduate La Trobe degrees and can be identified in the subject database by distinct icons. The list of approved subjects is also on the Essentials webpage.
