*Enrolment on any campus for any candidate is subject to the availability of supervision and appropriate research environment. International candidates may only enrol at a CRICOS-registered campus. This entry is for currently enrolled students only as this course is no longer accepting new enrolments. If you are interested in undertaking postgraduate studies in the Psychological Sciences, please see our Master of Psychological Science degree, or PhD degree. The Doctor of Counselling Psychology is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) until 2018. Professional registration will require an application to APAC and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the degree. Please contact APAC for details. As a higher degree by research, the proportion of time and commitment is weighted much more heavily toward research than the other degrees in counselling psychology. The Professional Doctorate degree consists of coursework (up to one third of the degree) and research (two thirds). The research component requires you to pursue an independent and sustained investigation into a research problem of your own design that will culminate in the submission of a thesis for examination.
Upon completion of your candidature you must demonstrate through your thesis that you have developed a substantial body of knowledge at the frontier of your field of work or learning, including knowledge that constitutes an original contribution to your profession.
